The Allen Community Ice Rink (ACIR) at the Allen Event Center (AEC) is the City of Allen’s newest family entertainment center for the entire community of Allen, Texas.  Enjoy a full-sized state of the art ice surface 85 x 200', general seating for 300 spectators, locker rooms, equipment shop, 2 meeting rooms, off-ice training room, and skate rental.  Also available are birthday party packages, group packages, broomball, corporate and PTA fundraisers, scout troop badge program, stick and puck sessions, freestyle sessions for figure skaters, private instruction for both figure skating and hockey, and much more.

PUBLIC SKATING...NOW IN SESSION!
Open throughout the year, the ACIR is now open for public skating sessions.  Admission per person is only $5.00 and skate rental is $3.00.  Children 2 years and younger- FREE.  Come skate with us and bring the whole family to enjoy a cool way to have fun.

DON’T FIGURE IT OUT ON YOUR OWN
ACIR is also the home of the Allen Academy of Skating - a skating program for all ages (tots through adults) that teaches you the fundamentals of skating.  Both our figure skating and hockey programs are taught by our certified coaches who create a positive and healthy environment for our Allen skating community.  Competitive in price to fit your budget, our skate school program package includes a 25 minute class, FREE practice session the day of your class, skate rental, and additional open skate passes.  We also offer private lessons given by our staff of coaches- many of them having coached at the regional through Olympic and world class level.  In addition, AAS provides specialty classes such as synchronized skating classes, high performance edge classes, freestyle sessions, bootcamp for skaters, and much more.

HOCKEY ANYONE?
Inspired by our own Allen Americans Central Hockey League team and our Allen Jr. American Youth Hockey League, we also offer hockey classes as part of our Allen Academy of Skating.  Ranging from youth to adult,  these classes teach beginner hockey skills through athletic training preparation for hockey leagues.  For additional practice, Adult Pickup Sessions and Youth Stick Sessions are also available.

We have outstanding hockey programs starting this month at the new Community Ice Rink in Allen, TX!
 
ADULT HOCKEY
American Made Adult Learn to Play program
The Learn to Play program will teach adult players the basics of hockey.  Skating, puck control, passing, shooting, checking (stick checks and angling), and some tactics.
Starts Monday, February 22, 2010 
Runs for 12 sessions 
Class is from 8:15 - 9:15pm on Mondays 
Includes a free pick up session which takes place after the class each Monday from 9:30-10:45pm. 
All for $125.00

ALLEN ADULT HOCKEY LEAGUE (AAHL)
We are having our AAHL draft this Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 8:00 - 9:15pm.  This is for players that would like to play hockey, but are not currently on a team.  The draft will place players on the appropriate level team.  For the upcoming season the AAHL is going to play as part of the Metro Christian Hockey Association (MCHA).  This will get our teams great competition at the right level and be a part of an established league.  Cost is $250.00 per player for 11 games guaranteed.
 
YOUTH HOCKEY
First Strides Hockey Program
This program is for players that are skating and want to learn the basics of hockey in full equipment.  Program starts up this Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 3:15 - 4:15pm and continues for 4 total session.  February 27, March 6 &13 time is 3:00-4:00pm.  Cost is $50.00 total for the 4 sessions.
 
Speed School - Power Skating and Hockey Skills Program
This program is for players at a more advanced level that want to work at improving their skill level.  Emphasis will be on skating and puck skills.  Program starts up this Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 4:30-5:30pm and continues for 4 total sessions.  February 27, March 6 & 13 time is 4:15-5:15pm.  Cost is $50.00 total for the 4 sessions.
 
Jr Americans Youth Hockey Program
We are having our Jr Americans evaluation skate this Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 3:15-4:15pm.  We will still be taking registrations right up until the evaluation.  There is still room in our Mini Mite, Mite, Squirt and PeeWee divisions.  So if you haven't registered your player yet you can register at the evaluation.  Cost is $399.00 for 10 games and 10 practices.  Program will start this Sunday and run until the start of May.
